Male Breast Reduction Surgery - Massachusetts
Breast Reduction for Men
Some boys and men are bothered by excess fat and breast tissue known as gynecomastia. They are frequently very self conscious and will not take off their shirts at the beach. A solution is male breast reduction surgery, or subcutaneous mastectomy, a procedure that removes extra breast tissue and fat to give a more sculpted look to the male chest.
Dr. Hamori and Dr. DiEdwardo can approach enlarged male breast with several techniques — such as liposuction alone, direct areolar tissue reduction surgery with a short peri-areolar scar, and full breast reduction surgery with scars around the nipple and along the chest (for very droopy breasts such as those in massive weight loss patients). The full result is usually seen in a few weeks.
Gynecomastia recovery and risks
Your recovery time depends on how severe your gynecomastia is what procedures were performed. Typically an average patient, treated with a both liposuction and surgical removal of breast tissue, can return to work after a week.
Gynecomastia surgical results are permanent, assuming your weight is stable. If your condition arose from the use of medication or anabolic steroids, further use could lead to recurrence. (See more below information below.)
